How long have you been in business?
15 years as Yeager's Handyman Service, then 5 years as Brighter Finish Construction.
What is your primary product or service?
Residential remodeling and repair.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Had a couple laborer jobs while in high school. The more I learned about buildings, the more I wanted to know about what made them tick. Got into the architectural and mechanical engineering programs at Penn State after the Army. After a few years I realized I was more interested in the practical application and left college. I spent the next several years working for various contractors. Went on my own (part-time)and began honing my building skills.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I don't run an estimate mill. I spend time determining exactly what the customer wants. By the time I begin compiling an estimate, I already have a signed agreement of some sort. My customers know they will always get a good job at a fair price.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I am in the process of expanding my sales team and am looking for qualified subcontractors.

Pittsburgh and east.
